REVIEW: Food Should Taste Good – Salt & Vinegar Kettle Cooked Sweet Potato Chips

We just cannot say enough good things about the Food Should Taste Good brand.  Their amazing flavor-combination, boundary pushing, health conscientiousness, packaging design and darn tasty goodness is such a rarity in this industry that we must simply say “bravo, and thank you”.

Right away upon opening this bag of chips we were engulfed with a pungent sour aroma – aka real vinegar.  However, the scent quickly dissipated as we crunched down onto the sweet potato chips, and we found that the sour transferred very nicely from a vinegary nasal burn to a pucker-y tongue verve.  Although the sweet potato chips seemed to soak up, and slightly diminish, the vinegar’s acidic effect a bit more than traditional potato chips do, we really appreciated the wonderful juxtaposition of the vinegar with the sweetness of the potatoes and cane sugar.

We have to agree with the bags description of these chips as having a “tart and tangy bite”.  In fact, when we licked our fingers clean of the seasoning from the bottom of the bag, thoughts of Granny Smith apples raced through our minds.  We haven’t checked our records yet, but we are fairly confident in saying that these chips have placed themselves securely among our Top 5 – salt & vinegar chips of all-time, and without a doubt, at the top spot of our Top 5 – sweet potato chips of all-time.

We’ll just say it again, “bravo, and thank you”.
