REVIEW: Beer Chips – Seasoned Mini Pub Pretzels

Rating: ©©©©-1/4 chips  (lip-smacking)

Comments:

Wouldn’t it be just downright awesome if all the local pubs served bowls and bowls of salted, thirst inducing, free pretzels…….and if they only tasted this good!

When it comes to seasoned pretzels, we here at Chip Review are fully aware of the big deal we’ve made regarding Snyder’s of Hanover’s Pretzel Pieces technique:

“…the masters of hard sour dough pretzel snacks…in the case of this snack, we like to think they resourcefully use their broken leftover pieces (which is unlikely) to create these tasty bites.  Because these pretzels consist of broken pieces, they generously expose their more porous bread-y insides to the wonderfully rich buttermilk ranch seasoning, and willfully absorb a larger amount of it than other pretzel snacks that retain their hard outer shells, and therefore, reject flavor!  We can’t say enough good things about this snack.”

However, Beer Chips have done just right by these traditional mini pretzels, and they are most definitely not slouching on their overall seasoning coverage.  Luckily for us, these crunchy morsels do not don that same generic, one-note “season salt” that Beer Chips’ other “seasoned” snack did.  We have to believe that the secret to this delicious seasoning must have something to do with the inclusion of buttermilk – combined with plenty of onion and garlic – a combination that  reminds us a lot of ranch seasoning.

As always we want to hear from you.  Agree or disagree, let us know.
