Alright, let’s get two things out of the way, right from the get go.

First of all, we think there should be a limit to the number of descriptors a brand can include on the front of a single bag of chips.  We mean, come’on…..could the descriptions of these chips be any more long-winded….let’s leave something up to the imagination of the eater.  We want the mouthful to fill our stomachs….

And secondly, this is in fact the first time Chip Review has included two chips in one review….dare we say a tandem review, just for you?  We just feel that there is not enough criteria separating these chips to warrant two individual reviews, so the following review will be descriptive of both of these chips.

Michael Season’s Thin & Crispy Potato Chips can be described as a good version of Lay’s regular potato chips, and by this we mean less salty (which we admit, we slightly miss the salt), along with quite a bit less greasy (and we are thankful for that), and finally by the chips themselves, which are large, unbroken, crunchy and really taste like potato chips.

Sporting 30% less fat than the leading potato chip brand, you just wouldn’t know it by tasting them.  We definitely won’t be referring to these chips as “those” low fat chips any time soon.

Regarding the lack of salt on these chips….what can we say?  We like salt on our chips.  We love salt on our chips.  In fact, for the most part we enjoy seasoned chips more than regular salted potato chips.  So, we are having difficulty comparing these against any other chips…..and honestly, we’re pretty sure that Michael Season’s Unsalted potato chips are the very first ones we have ever given a shot, and you know what, they aren’t that bad.  For any of you out there who may have health issues with sodium, or just simply try to stick to a diet with lower sodium, these are the chips for you.  And you know what?  With, or without salt, these chips are better than Lay’s Regular Potato Chips in our opinion.

As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think.  Agree or disagree, let us know.
