Lay’s Sensations line of chips used to be available in multiple different flavors in the U.S. of A., but as far as we know it, this specialty line has been discontinued for quite a few years now. However, that does not stop Lay’s from taking their “sensational” idea, and trying it out on a different audience, in a far away land.
These chips made their way to us via our good old friends S & A all the way from the Netherlands, and yes, we will be using that as our excuse for why the bag in the photo above is so crinkly.
Mexican Peppers? Wow, way to stereotype and generalize…..
Lay’s Sensations potato chips are a bit thicker than our standard Lay’s thin potato chips, but not overly crunchy like they were kettle cooked.
Alright, let’s just speculate, based on the photo above, that we’re looking at a Yellow Bell Pepper, and possibly some Cayenne Chile Peppers, combine those with some (sour) cream and that sounds pretty tasty to us. Well, these don’t taste that far off from that exact combination. First, you get a quick but subtle hint of spice. Then you sit back and enjoy the smoothy, creamy flavor. And all is rounded out with a bit of sweetness in the distant background and some prolonged heat in the back of the throat.
We really liked this flavor combination. These were extremely eatable chips. Now, if we could only get our hands on some of those Mexican Peppers…
As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think. Agree or disagree, let us know.
