Comments:

Plain and simple, without a doubt, these chips taste exactly like well executed falafels (maybe that’s why they are call Falafel Chips…???).   Here at Chip Review we’ve eaten many a falafel in our day.  We love to dip them into creamy hummus, and we love them crammed into pita pockets.  These mark the first falafel chips we’ve ever tasted.

For those of you unfamiliar with falafels, according to the chip bag: “falafel are an east Mediterranean seasoned vegetarian patty rich in protein and fiber”.  And, according to Wikipedia: Falafel is made from fava beans or chickpeas, or a combination of the two. The use of chickpeas is predominant in most Middle Eastern countries….”  These chips appear to use a combination of fava and black beans, as well as, chickpeas.

Right off the bat these falafel chips evoke those typical, and yet unique, combination of Middle Eastern flavors.  Enveloping us with powerful notes of cumin, and coriander.  For those out there unfamiliar with falafel, or Middle Eastern flavors, you will be in for a surprise.

We really appreciate the nutritional value of these chips.  In fact, we’ve never seen a single bag lay claim to such healthy standards.  If there’s a healthy label or category, these chips have them.  But, as healthy as these chips are, we couldn’t eat too many of them in one sitting.  These are not light chips.  They are a crunchy, filling, flavorful and healthy snack.

And, we should mention, just like the chip bag states, these would indeed be “the chip for hummus dip!”

As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think.  Agree or disagree, let us know.
