These Better Made Wavy Potato Chips are not the ‘best made’ Better Made potato chips we’ve tasted. And, we’ve definitely had ‘better made’ Sour Cream & Onion (SCO) potato chips elsewhere (the puns never, ever get old…).
The flavor of these chips was definitely lacking that rich, creamy sour cream powder that differentiates the great SCO chips from all the rest. With none of the creamy powder (that’s right we checked the ingredients, and there was none of the usual suspects – milk solids, milk powder, cream powder) to cut through the onion seasoning, these chips were very salty. The star of this show was definitely the onion. Bright green specs generously covered each one of the thin rippled potato chips…but in the end, these chips felt very lonely without their creamy partner.
We should probably mention that in Better Made’s SCO defense, we did just so happen to be eating a bag of Old Dutch’s SCO Potato Chips (for Chip Review, the ‘originals‘ /the SCOs by which all others are judged), during this same time, and it might not have been fair. But, at the same time, it only confirmed that these Better Made chips weren’t even playing in the same SCO League!
As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think. Agree or disagree, let us know.
