So far the quality, and flavor diversity, that we have experienced from Bret’s potato chips have been nothing short of notable! We can only hope that somehow more of their uniquely flavored potato chips (which include flavors such as caramel, some sort of sea or oyster, and even kebab) find their way across that big blue ocean and onto our store shores!
Bret’s potato chips are narrowly rippled, with a medium to medium-thin thickness, a nice grease level, and overall, only ever so lightly salted. The potato chips themselves are tasty, with plenty of earthy potato essence.
While we may not feel as though Bret’s Indian Curry flavored potato chips are quite as tasty as the Goat Cheese & Espelette Pepper flavored chips of theirs that we tried first, they certainly are not anything to shrug at. The curry seasoning blend is very complex and uniform, and also very, very savory! We’re not exactly sure of what all constitutes the curry blend, but we can tell you that it definitely includes a good amount of coriander, cumin, ginger, and turmeric. The chips are a nice retreat from the traditional, everyday expected flavors like barbeque, cheddar & whatever, and lets say sour cream & onion; but then again we also wouldn’t really want to eat them day in and day out either.
In the end, they are good chips that we probably appreciate more than we truly enjoy. And we especially love that Bret’s is pushing the chip flavor boundaries, and we can’t wait to taste any of Bret’s other flavors!
These are our thoughts, agree or disagree, make sure to let us know!
