Bokados Topitos - Salsa Verde


We’re sorry but we feel like we should get something off our chest, and let Bokados Topitos 360° Salsa Verde Chips know straight off that by describing, or naming you chip flavor as salsa verde you are automatically going to trigger comparisons between yourself, and one of our all-time favorites!  Due to this inevitable (and probably unfair) comparison, perfectly notable chips can begin to look a little less desirable just for being themselves…

The Topitos 360° are certainly not shy on flavor.  They deliver quite a surprising flavor explosion!  First, the chips have a zippy, sour, citrisy, acidic blast, which is followed by a few light, spicy, chile notes.  On the tail end, the usual ingredients of garlic and onion, try to smooth everything out to no avail.  The flavors seem jumbled, and never really jive harmoniously.

Bokados bag describes the Topitos 360° as seasoned corn flour chips.  When we saw that description, all we could think to ourselves was “what’s the difference between that, and corn tortilla chips?”  Well, as it turns out, quite a bit.  The chips are very light, airy, and delicate.  The decision to use corn flour rather than the typical ground corn must be what created the chips unusually delicate texture.  The chips were almost too light to cause a crunch!

If you are on the lookout for some salsa verde flavored corn chips you could definitely do worse than these.
