BIJOU-REVIEW: Herr’s – Sweet Thai Chili Potato Chips

Rating: ©©©-3/4 chips  (notable)

Herr's - Sweet Thai ChiliThese are decent enough chips, but then again Kettle Brand’s Spicy Thai Potato Chips are some of our most favorite chips of all-time so from that perspective these chips probably just have too much to live up to – so we’ll cut them some slack!

Sweet?  Yep. They have a decent amount of sugary seasoning on them.

Chili? Ummmm sure. There is a touch of heat present from some type of indistinguishable chili pepper.

Thai? Not so much. We do not really get any of that sweet, sour, salty, bitter combination that we expect from Thai cuisine. None of those staple Thai flavors like ginger, or green onion, or citrus – in particular lime.  And certainly nothing that triggers thoughts of exotic far away islands!

The potato chips are wide rippled, thinner, crispy, and slightly greasy.  We could eat these all day, but if we had our choice we would go with Herr’s other newer and tastier flavor – Peppered Bacon!!!

  1. Hello, Chip Review.

I started my chip blog a few weeks back. I mainly try Norwegian chips. Today I did a search to see whether there are other blogs out there and the first search result was your blog. I was surprised, and slightly disconcerted, to see that we use the same theme! I suppose there is a correlation between taste in food and web site design. I will be following your blog closely!

    Kind regards,
    Øyvinds Chipsblogg
