Every great city has a great potato chip company. In the case of Detroit, they have been graced with two – Better Made and Nick’s. We sure hope that Motor City knows just how good they’ve got it!!
We have reviewed more than a handful of Nick’s different chips over the past year or so, and for the most part, we have been quite impressed with what we have tried; especially with the spicier flavored snacks!
As for these Honey BBQ chips, well, they are pretty good. If this flavor was a BBQ sauce that someone gave us for our meat, well then – NO WAY – much, much, much too sweet! But melding the honey bbq seasoning with some tasty, thinner cut, potato-y potato chips works wonderfully. A decent presence of smoke, and just enough of the prerequisite savory notes save these chips from going to the sticky-sweet dark side.
As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think. Agree or disagree, let us know.
