REVIEW: Dakota Style – Honey Mustard Kettle Chips

Comments:

These chips are sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet….honey mustard potato chips.  Despite the overwhelming sweetness to these chips, they do still portray a nice mustard-y aromatic “heat” in the background.  The potato chips are some very crunchy kettle potato chips, and we really appreciated that these chips definitely were not as greasy as other Dakota Style’s we have tried lately.

These are a great option for people who like sweet chips, or slightly mustard-y chips, and especially if you like both.

REVIEW: Snyder’s of Hanover – Honey Mustard & Onion Pretzel Pieces

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again, Snyder’s of Hanover are the masters of hard sour dough pretzel snacks.  They have a wonderful array of flavors and varietals that we plan to explore in the months to come.  In the case of this snack type, we like to think they resourcefully use their broken leftover pieces from the pretzel making process (which is unlikely) to create the tasty bites.

The broken pretzel pieces expose the more porous bready insides of the pretzel and absorb a much more abundant amount of the rich honey mustard & onion seasoning (unlike other pretzel snacks that retain their hard outer slippery shells, and therefore, reject flavor!).

Flavor wise, these pretzel pieces have a nice sweet mustard flavor in the foreground, followed by a potent and lasting onion flavor on the back-end.  We noticed the inclusion of vinegar and horseradish amongst the ingredients on the package so we thought there could be some zip to these, but in the end they did not deliver any bite.  All together the flavors did meld nicely and compliment the sour dough pretzels pieces.  Another hit from Snyder’s of Hanover.
