Lay's - Tapatio Limon

Comments:

And so it is, for the 5th, and possibly final, (what’s left, Sun Chips?), time that we must inform you of the relationship between Señor Tapatio, and Frito Lay.  We are positive now that the two must have agreed to a spicy exclusive snack partnership, because we’ve spotted (and reviewed) a handful of Tapatio’s hot sauce flavored Frito Lay snacks now!  Señor Tapatio seems to have really hit the jackpot!  So far we’ve seen versions from Doritos, Fritos, Ruffles, Cheetos, and now of course Lay’s can be added to that long list of spicy snacks.

To be frank, these chips taste exactly like they are named.  Simply, nothing more, and nothing less.  The relatively spicy Tapatio hot sauce burns, while the acidic, and citrusy lime flavor shocks the tongue.  The classic combination of chile and lime is once again revealed, and executed. Probably the only thing we find a bit unsuspecting about these chips is that there is no cheese flavor at all.  Each, and every one of the other Tapatio-Frito Lay snacks, seemed to have an underlying cheese flavor among them. For good, or for bad, the cheese flavor was there in all the other; but with these, they simply delivered spicy hot chile and lime.

As always, these are our thoughts, we would love to hear what you think.  Agree or disagree, let us know.
