Cheetos Puffs – Limited Edition Smoked Cheddar

It’s not very often that Cheetos brand markets a new product that we’re not 100% completely willing to stand behind, but with this latest Limited Edition creation, we have to be honest, we’re going to hide from it instead!
This is not one of those cases where the manufacturer mis-promoted their product, or couldn’t execute on some new flavor combination. No, these cheese Puffs do indeed taste quite like smoked cheddar (in fact, too much in our opinions). See, we appreciate smoked cheddar cheese, we like to use it on a good burger, or cold cut sandwich. But, smoked cheddar cheese requires some other flavors to cut through, and compensate for its rich, smokey, pungent body, otherwise it is just way too powerful and overwhelming….hence, the case here.
The Puffs themselves seemed a bit larger than normal. Maybe we just haven’t tasted Cheetos Puffs in a while, but we’re pretty sure these are larger than the originals. Again, nobody likes change, we prefer the original’s size.
We’re sorry to say, but these are definitely one of our least favorite Cheetos products ever. However, we also want to say that we appreciate Cheetos for continuing to push the boundaries, and not simply becoming stagnant and relying on their time tested classics.
